ENDF/B-V Combined Data File
The purpose of this memo is to document the ENDF/B-V Combined
Data File which has recently been produced from the ENDF/B-V
General Purpose, Fission Product, and Actinide files. This file
contains all the ENDF/B-V data for which "complete" evaluations
are given. It does not include files which have partial eval-
uations, eg. (n,gamma) and (n,p) or (n,p) and (n,alpha) cross
sections only. The contents of the file are given in Table 1,
which includes the MAT and MOD numbers, resonance information,
the date of the evaluation, and the ENDF/B-V tape number. In
Table 1, "SL" means the single level Breit-Wigner resonance for-
malism is used while "ML" refers to the multi-level Breit-Wigner
formalism. The number after "SL" or "ML" is the number of re-
solved resonances given. For two nuclides, U-233 and Pu-241, the
Adler-Adler, "AA" resonance formalism is used. "UN" indicates
that unresolved resonance data is included. The "date" given is,
for most nuclides, the same as that given in Ref. 1.
The data is organized by "Z" and "MAT" number as indicated in
Table 2. This choice was made for convenience and also because
smaller files (rather than 1 big file) will reduce the I/O for
an "average" job by a factor of 3 to 4. By referring to the last
column in Table 1, it is easy to determine which of the 4 files
the data resides on. The full data set names are given in Table 3.
The files were created with the RIGEL program and are binary
(unformatted) with a blocksize of 6400. These data sets are all
cataloged and reside on volume VRQW01.
It will be observed that certain fission-product nuclides have
a "date" of AUG88 in Table 1. These are the 12 fission products
which were recently modified as discussed in Ref. 2. The eval-
uations given in Table 1 are unique (only one evaluation per
nuclide) with two exceptions. These are the nuclides Rb-85 and
Rb-87 which each have two evaluations. The preferred evaluations
are MAT 1360 and MAT 1341, respectively which are on the file
"B32TO89".
