RSICC CODE PACKAGE PSR-412
1. NAME AND TITLE
CEMENT1.02: Computer Code System for Estimation of Long-Term Performance of Cement-Based Materials.
EG&G Idaho Inc., Idaho Falls, Idaho through the Energy Science and Technology Software Center, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
3. CODING LANGUAGE AND COMPUTER
FORTRAN 77; IBM PC (P00412IBMPC00).
4. NATURE OF PROBLEM SOLVED
CEMENT is a program that can be used to estimate various aspects of the long term performance of cement-based barriers used in low-level radioactive waste disposal facilities.
5. METHOD OF SOLUTION
Eleven computer codes are incorporated into CEMENT. These codes and their methodology ar as follows: CARBNA, uses the carbonation degradation model of Walton et al; CLATIM, uses the time to initiation of chloride attack model of Walton et al; CORROD, uses the oxygen diffusion degradation model of Walton et al; FRZTH1, uses the freeze thaw degradation model of Walton et al; LCHCNC, uses the concrete controlled leaching degradation model of Walton et al; LCHGEO, uses the geology controlled leaching degradation model of Walton et al; SATTK1, uses the empirical sulfate attack model of Walton et al; SATTK2, uses the sulfate attack degradation model of Walton et al; FLOW, uses the equation to calculate the nondimensional flow rate from Walton and Seitz; RNNOD, uses equations to estimate the ratio of the contaminant concentration in the water at a specified location; SUDFRD, implements the equations to estimate the thickness of concrete required to attenuate the contaminant concentration in the leachate.
6. RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS
7. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME
Each test case took less than one minute to execute on a Dell Pentium 100.
8. COMPUTER HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
9. COMPUTER SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
The Lahey compiler was used to create the included executables which can be run in a DOS window of Windows95.
L.E. Plansky and R.R Seitz, "User's Guide for Simplified Computer Models for the Estimation of Long-Term Performance of Cement-Based Materials," NUREG/CR-6138, EGG-2719 (February 1994).
11. CONTENTS OF CODE PACKAGE
Included in the package are the referenced documents and a diskette containing a self-extracting DOS file which contains Fortran source, PC and an executable plus eleven test cases.
