1. NAME AND TITLE
CECP (PWR): Estimating Pressurized Water Reactor Decommissioning Costs.
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, Washington.
3. CODING LANGUAGE AND COMPUTER
Fortran 90 or Fortran 77; PC/DOS (P00371PC38600).
4. NATURE OF PROBLEM SOLVED
The Cost Estimating Computer Program CECP (PWR), designed for use on an IBM personal computer or equivalent, was developed for estimating the cost of decommissioning boiling water reactor (PWR) power stations to the point of license termination.
5. METHOD OF SOLUTION
Cost estimates include component, piping, and equipment removal costs; packaging costs; decontamination costs; transportation costs; burial volume and costs; and manpower staffing costs. Using equipment and consumables costs and inventory data supplied by the user, CECP calculates unit cost factors and then combines these factors with transportation and burial cost algorithms to produce a complete report of decommissioning costs. In addition to costs, CECP (PWR) also calculates person-hours, crew-hours, and exposure person-hours associated with decommissioning.
6. RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS
This version deals with pressurized water reactors (PWR) only.
7. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME
Varies with problem.
8. COMPUTER HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
CECP (PWR) runs on the IBM PC family of computers using a 386xs or higher processor. A VGA monitor. 640K of standard memory. Expanded or extended memory is not required. A hard disk. HP LaserJet III or IV printer, required only if you want to print files directly from CECP (PWR).
9. COMPUTER SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
DOS 5.0 or higher. Only executables exist, no source or compiling necessary.
M. C. Bierschbach, "Estimating Boiling Water Reactor Decommissioning Costs, A User's Manual for the PWR Cost Estimating Computer Program (CECP) Software," NUREG/CR-6054 (December 1995).
11. CONTENTS OF CODE PACKAGE
The package includes the referenced document and one DS/HD (1.44MB) DOS diskette which contains the installation programs, executables, data files, utility programs, and printer strings.
12. DATE OF ABSTRACT
September 1996, retested December 1998.
