4. NATURE OF PROBLEM SOLVED
The REFERDOU system can be used to calculate the response function of a NE-213 scintillation
detector for energies up to 100 MeV, to interpolate and spread (Gaussian) the response function, and
unfold the measured spectrum of neutrons while propagating errors from the response functions to the
unfolded spectrum.
5. METHOD OF SOLUTION
The calculation of response functions for energies up to 100 MeV is done with the RESU Monte
Carlo. The code uses measured light output data, new cross-section data based on ENDF/B-IV, PSR-14/O5S, and other sources, and two-body reaction models (rather than evaporation) for carbon
reaction processes. Interpolation and Gaussian spreading is done with the INTER program. The
unfolding with propagation of errors (uncertainties) is accomplished with FERDOU, a modified
version of the PSR-102/FERDO code system.
6. RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS
None noted.
7. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME
The package was not checked for typical running time by RSIC.

A FACOM M-380 computer is required.

A Fortran IV compiler is required.
