1. NAME AND TITLE
X4ECS: A Code System to Combine Cross Section Data in EXFOR and/or ENDF/B-IV Format.
2. CONTRIBUTOR
The Chinese Nuclear Data Center, Beijing, The People's Republic of China, through the OECD
Nuclear Energy Agency Data Bank, Gif-sur-Yvette, France.
3. CODING LANGUAGE AND COMPUTER
Fortran 77; VAX 11.
4. NATURE OF PROBLEM SOLVED
X4ECS is designed to retrieve EXFOR data according to given target nucleus, reaction type, year
range and incident energy range, then convert them to a data table form which can easily be further
processed by computer.
5. METHOD OF SOLUTION
X4ECS compares the evaluated nuclear cross section data in the ENDF/B-IV format with experimental data in EXFOR format. For instance, all the data curves for an element can be compared from ENDF/B-IV, ENDF/B-V, and EXFOR master files.
X4ECS combines the cross section data in EXFOR and/or ENDF/B-IV format and converts them
to a uniform format for further processing, especially for graphical comparison of curves.
6. RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS
Input data files must be coded in ENDF/B-IV format and/or EXFOR format. In general, they are
retrieval results for the required data. In EXFOR data files every subentry includes cross section data
and SUB 001 of the same entry. The data of MF=1 and MF=3 must be included.
7. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME
No study has been made by RSIC of typical running time for X4ECS.
8. COMPUTER HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
X4ECS is operable on the VAX 11 computer. About 200 K bytes are required.
9. COMPUTER SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
A Fortran 77 compiler is required.
