5. METHOD OF SOLUTION
FEDGROUP-3 is a system of closely linked files and programs. The data used by NWZ-3, the central program of the system, is in either an RFOD input file or an SFGK output format. An RFOD file is the working file for evaluated data. SFGK is the output format for group constants produced by the NWZ-3 program.
The components of the FEDGROUP system are the following five programs:
NWZ-3 the central program of the system. It uses evaluated data in RFOD format and calculates group constants for any user-specified group system and averaging spectrum, or it calculates point-wise cross-sections. The group-constants calculated by NWZ-3 will be given in SFGK format; the point-wise cross-sections will appear in RFOD format.
PRAFO prepares RFOD files from evaluated data in a card-image evaluated data file. It is developed for KEDAK, UKNDL, and ENDF/B data.
EVDAUT manipulates card-image data files. It is written in PL/I.
RFODS manipulates existing RFOD files.
SFGKS manipulates existing SFGK sets.
6. RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS
EVDAUT, a PL/I program, should be run independently if the input file is a card-image evaluated data file. This program can copy all or selected parts of the input file, print selected records, and, during copying, change characters and add or delete cards to or from the output file.
PRAFO, a program for preparing RFOD from evaluated data in a card-image evaluated data file,
has only been developed for KEDAK, UKNDL and ENDF/B data. It is possible to include any user-developed PRAFO for data in other formats.
7. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME
No study has been made by RSIC of typical running times for FEDGROUP-3.
8. COMPUTER HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
FEDGROUP-3 is operable on the EC-1040 computer using IBM-OS/360. Information concerning
the estimation of dynamic and other lengths is provided in the referenced document.
9. COMPUTER SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
Fortran IV, Assembler, and PL/I compilers are required. ENDF/B, KEDAK, UKNDL data
libraries, or existing RFOD files, are required.
