RSIC COMPUTER CODE PSR-079

1. NAME AND TITLE

AMARA: Nuclear Data Adjustment Using Lagrange's Multipliers Method.

2. CONTRIBUTOR

CNEN Nuclear Research Center, Casaccia, Italy.

3. CODING LANGUAGE AND COMPUTER

Fortran IV; IBM 360/370.

4. NATURE OF PROBLEM SOLVED

The evaluation of adjusted nuclear parameters by means of correlation with integral data generally involves the inversion of a given matrix. Since, in general, the number of nuclear data is large with respect to that of integral experiments, AMARA was developed to reduce the linear dimensions of the matrix to be inverted to the number of integral data.

5. METHOD OF SOLUTION

AMARA performs nuclear data adjustment using Lagrange's multipliers.

6. RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS

None noted.

7. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

No study has been made by RSIC of typical running times for AMARA.

8. COMPUTER HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

AMARA is operable on the IBM 360/370 computers.

9. COMPUTER SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

A Fortran IV compiler is required.
