RSIC COMPUTER CODE PSR-076
1. NAME AND TITLE
EURCYL: Finite Element Three-Dimensional Mesh Generator for Cylinder -- Cylinder
EURATOM -- Joint Nuclear Research Center, Ispra Establishment, Italy, through the OECD
Nuclear Energy Agency's Computer Program Library.
3. CODING LANGUAGE AND COMPUTER
Fortran IV; IBM 370.
4. NATURE OF PROBLEM SOLVED
EURCYL produces punched cards for finite element analysis of cylinder-cylinder intersections.
It is particularly suited for generating a mesh for thick-walled vessel-nozzle junctions, including local
reinforcement and transition radii at the intersection.
5. METHOD OF SOLUTION
In the general geometry of 1/4 of the cylinder-cylinder intersection as dealt with by EURCYL,
three regions are recognized: nozzle zone, transition zone, vessel zone.
6. RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS
7. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME
No study has been made by RSIC of typical running times for EURCYL.
8. COMPUTER HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
EURCYL is operable on the IBM 370 computers.
9. COMPUTER SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
A Fortran IV compiler is required.
