4.     HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND INFORMATION

The TSL-ACE/2013 library (Thermal Scattering Libraries), developed at Departamento de Ingenieria Nuclear, Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, was processed in the ACE format for use with Monte Carlo codes.

 

5.     APPLICATION OF THE DATA

Thermal Scattering Libraries have been reviewed and processed with the NJOY processing code to ACE format, to be used in MCNP(X). As a result, 727 files have been generated, one for each material and temperature in all libraries. To test these files, two kind of simulations have been performed using MCNPX: first, using an AmBe neutron source, and second, testing cases from SINBAD database.

Thermal neutron scattering cross section data libraries, processed in ACE format to be used with MCNP. Format: ACE.
Number of groups: Continuous energy.
Processed Libraries: ENDF/B-VI.8, ENDF/B-VII.0, ENDF/B-VII.1, INDL-TSL, JEFF-3.1, JEFF-3.1.1, JEFF-3.1.2, JENDL-4.0, JENDL-4.0u

• ENDF/B-VI.8: H in H2O, paraH, orthoH, H in ZrH, D in D2O, paraD, orthoD, Be metal, Be in BeO, graphite, liquid CH4, solid CH4, H in CH2, benzine, Zr in ZrH.
• ENDF/B-VII.0: H in H2O, paraH, orthoH, H in ZrH, D in D2O, paraD, orthoD, Be metal, Be in BeO, graphite, liquid CH4, solid CH4, H in CH2, benzine, O in BeO, U in UO2, Al, Fe, Zr in HZr, O in UO2.
• ENDF/B-VII.1: H in H2O, paraH, orthoH, H in ZrH, D in D2O, paraD, orthoD, Be metal, Be in BeO, graphite, liquid CH4, solid CH4, H in CH2, benzine, O in BeO, SiO2, U in UO2, Al, Fe, Zr in HZr, O in UO2.

• JENDL-4.0(u):H in H2O, paraH, orthoH, H in ZrH, D in D2O, paraD, orthoD, Be metal, Be in BeO, graphite, liquid CH4, solid CH4, H in CH2, benzine, Zr in ZrH.
Temperatures: The libraries have been processed using the same temperatures as the provided in the evaluated files. Each temperature is given in a separated ACE file. See the report for more details.
