RSICC DATA PACKAGE DLC-213

1. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA LIBRARY

DECDC 1.0: Nuclear Decay Data Files for Radiation Dosimetry Calculations.

2. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA RETRIEVAL PROGRAMS

None included.

3. CONTRIBUTOR

Department of Health Physics, Tokai Research Establishment, JAERI, Tokai, Ibaraki, Japan.

4. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND INFORMATION

The DECDC decay data were prepared using decay data sets from the Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data Files (ENSDF), the latest version in August 1997. Basic nuclear properties in the decay data sets were examined and updated by referring to NUBASE, the database for nuclear and decay properties of nuclides, and by using the utility programs of ENSDF. The revised data sets were processed by EDISTR in order to calculate the energies and intensities of particles, particles, rays, internal conversion electrons, X rays, and Auger electron emitted in nuclear transformation. The compiled data were prepared in two different types of format: Publ. 38 and NUCDECAY formats. The DECDC data contain newer data than those in DLC-172/NucDecay.

5. APPLICATION OF THE DATA

The decay data can be used for internal and external dose calculations in radiation protection.

6. SOURCE AND SCOPE OF DATA

DECDC contains two groups of data, namely, Publ38 and Non-Publ38. Where, "Publ38" contains 817 radionuclides that are listed in ICRP Publication 38 and for 6 additional isomers; and "Non-Publ38" contains the data files for the radionuclides with half-lives greater than the or equal to 10 min that are not listed in Publ. 38.

The data file consists of five parts:

(1) BALASTAR-BALAEND: Intensity and energy balances of the decay data sets used as input.

(2) INPUSTAR-INPUEND: Parameter lists used for calculation.

(3) OUPSTAR-OUTPEND: Radiation data of Pub. 38 format.

(4) BETASTAR-BETAEND: particle spectrum for composite of all branches.

(5) SEEISTAR-SEEIEND: Complete listing of radiation, called the NUCDECAY format in JAERI Data/Code 99-035 and 2001-004.

7. DISCUSSION OF THE DATA RETRIEVAL PROGRAM

No data retrieval program is included in the package.

8. DATA FORMAT AND COMPUTER

ASCII format, IBM PC, UNIX Workstation (D00213MNYCP00).

9. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

Not applicable.
