RSIC DATA LIBRARY DLC-135

1. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA LIBRARY

SHAMSI: 48 Group Cross-Section Library for Fusion Nucleonics Analysis.

2. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA RETRIEVAL PROGRAM

No retrieval program is included in the package.

3. CONTRIBUTOR

Joint Research Centre, Ispra Establishment, Italy.

4. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The SHAMSI library was produced by collapsing the DLC-37/EPR (Experimental Power Reactor) 121 fine group cross-section data into 34 neutron and 14 gamma-ray broad groups. To emphasize the neutron flux spectrum in high energy range where gamma production, activation and heat deposition are relatively more important, the collapsed neutron groups retain fine group structure in high energy range and get broader gradually in lower energies. As far as the 14 group gamma structure is concerned, only the groups of DLC-37 lying in the energy range 14 MeV to 3 MeV are collapsed. Below 3 MeV, all the groups retain their original structures.

5. APPLICATION OF THE DATA

The SHAMSI libraries provide multigroup cross section data for fusion nucleonics analysis. The data are in "FIDO" format and can be processed by the ANISN code.

6. SOURCE AND SCOPE OF DATA

The 28 materials in SHAMSI were collapsed from DLC-37. The Legendre order of expansion for angular distribution is 3.
