1. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA LIBRARY

ENDL-82: Neutron Library in Transmittal Format.

2. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA RETRIEVAL PROGRAMS

No retrieval program is included in the package.

3. CONTRIBUTOR

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, California.

4. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND INFORMATION

The LLNL Evaluated Nuclear Data Library has existed since 1958 in a succession of forms and formats. The present form is as a mode file and contains data for neutron-induced reactions. Ten different particles are defined; more can be added as needed.

5. APPLICATION OF THE DATA

All quantities in the library are entered in such a way that linear interpolation is appropriate; hence, he resulting total and nonelastic cross sections are likewise linearly interpolable. Plots are presented for each reaction using one decade of energy per graph. This permits use of a scale for the ordinate that is appropriate for the energy decade and the reaction being presented. The scale depends upon the maximum and minimum values of the dependent variable in the energy decade.

6. SOURCE AND SCOPE OF DATA

A table of contents for the Evaluated Nuclear Data Library is produced by computer. It lists the various aspects of each reaction contained in the library, together with the date of the most recent change in the data for each aspect of the reaction such as the cross sections, angular distributions, energy distributions, average energy of a secondary particle, etc. The first page of the table of contents identifies the specific version, edition, and year of the library, as well as the installation originating the library and the data of the most recent change.
