1. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA LIBRARY
GAMMON: Activation Library for Fusion Reaction Application and other Design Studies.
2. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA RETRIEVAL PROGRAMS
No retrieval program is in the package.
3. CONTRIBUTOR
Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, Los Alamos, New Mexico.
4. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND INFORMATION
GAMMON is an activation library specifically designed for fusion reaction applications.
5. APPLICATION OF THE DATA
GAMMON contains multigroup cross sections (in 100 energy groups) for 420 neutron-induced
reactions, multigroup gamma-ray spectra (in 25 energy groups) for 107 unique daughter products,
maximum permissible concentrations (MPC's) for 200 reaction products, and absorbable decay energy
("sensible heat") for 85 products.
6. SOURCE AND SCOPE OF DATA
The starting point for the GAMMON library was DLC-33/MONTAGE which contains 100-group neutron cross sections for 421 reactions and, where applicable, half-lives of the radioactive products. To the MONTAGE file was added: MeV/dis of gamma radiation, MeV/dis of non-gamma radiation, for a gamma emitter, the photons per 100 disintegrations in a 25-group structure covering the energy range from 0 to 10 MeV, and the MPC values as specified in the Code of Federal Regulations.
The file also contains maximum permissible concentrations for 200 reaction products and "absorbable" decay energy for 85 products.
The BIGAMON code is designed to retrieve the multigroup neutron cross sections and multigroup
gamma-ray spectra for all reactions of a single element from the GAMMON library and rebin these
data into broader energy groups.
