1. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA LIBRARY
CAD: 51 Neutron, 25 Gamma-Ray Group ALBEDO DATA Generated with DOT for Various Materials.
2. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA RETRIEVAL PROGRAMS
No retrieval program is in the package.
3. CONTRIBUTOR
Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
4. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND INFORMATION
CAD was derived from CARP which is an acronym for Compilation of Albedo Reflection Parameters. CARP was written to allow processing of DOT angular flux tapes to produce albedo data for use in the MORSE computer code.
5. APPLICATION OF THE DATA
The main purpose of the CARP code is to process either a DOT angular flux tape or a CARP storage tape and produce an albedo output tape which is in the format required for the BREESE tape-writing program. During the processing of this data, the group structure may be collapsed, dose conversion factors may be applied to the fluxes, and in the case of group reduction, group fluxes may be used for weighting.
6. SOURCE AND SCOPE OF DATA
CARP uses the CCCC package for I/O. This package is applicable only to IBM computers and must be modified by non-IBM users. There are internal comments indicating the functions of routines TIMER, REED, DOPC and DRED to guide users in converting to other machines.
The Assembler language subroutine ALOCAT adds convenience in that the amount of memory available for data storage is automatically adjusted to fill the space allocated in the JCL REGION parameter. A Fortran substitute is also available, but it requires a fixed dimension.
Data for four materials (water, iron, concrete, and a combination of steel and concrete) are included in the package.
