RSICC CODE PACKAGE CCC-606
1. NAME AND TITLE
ANITA-4: Code System to Calculate Isotope Inventories from Neutron Irradiation, for Fusion Applications.
ENEA - Centro Ricerche, Energia 'E. Clementel,' INN-FIS-MACO, Bologna, Italy, through the NEA Data Bank, Issy-les-Moulineaux, France.
3. CODING LANGUAGE AND COMPUTER
Fortran 77; IBM RS/6000; Pentium (C00606MNYCP01).
4. NATURE OF PROBLEM SOLVED
ANITA-4 computes the radioactive inventory of a material subject to neutron irradiation, continuous or stepwise and provides activity, atomic density, decay heat, energy of decay gamma-rays and ingestion hazard of each nuclide. It also provides total activity, decay heat, contact dose equivalent, gamma-ray spectra, and other relevant parameters, for the irradiated material, versus cooling time. As an option, these parameters may be plotted as a function of the cooling time. The code includes a complete data base which allows one to perform calculations for all the elements with atomic number smaller than 84 (up to bismuth). The cross-sections and the decay data library were developed for use in fusion technology applications from: 1) the EAF-4.1 neutron activation data library for the standard GAM-II 100 neutron group structure, 2) the JEF-2.2 decay data library and FENDL/D-2.0, 3) the ICRP dose coefficients for ingestion and inhalation of radionuclides.
5. METHOD OF SOLUTION
The mathematical solution of the problem is given in analytical form using recurrence relations. Double precision arithmetic is used. The following programs are included with the package: MODBIN (formerly NEODIR) builds a direct access binary library from a card image activation file; GRANITA (formerly DISCHO) produces graphical output (in encapsulated Postscript format) from the inventory file generated by ANITA-4.
6. RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS
7. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME
A few seconds to some minutes. The test case included in the package was executed by the NEA Data Bank on a PC/200MHz in 3.4seconds and on a IBM RS/6000 workstation in 2.5 seconds.
8. COMPUTER HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
The program has been installed at the NEA Data Bank and at RSICC on a PC with Intel Pentium processor and on an IBM RISC/6000 Workstation.
9. COMPUTER SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
The PC installation was done under MS-DOS (Windows 95) with Lahey F77L/EM-32 Version 5.2 compiler. The IBM RS/6000 installation was done under AIX 3.2 with the xlf compiler.
