XSHLD: Diagnostic X-Ray Shielding Calculation.

4. NATURE OF PROBLEM SOLVED

XSHLD will calculate the primary and/or secondary leakage/scatter barrier requirements for diagnostic radiographic and/or fluorescent x-ray units operating at 50, 70, 100, 125, and 150 kVp. Requirements are given for Pb shielding and for gypsum, plate glass, brick, concrete, and concrete block.

5. METHOD OF SOLUTION

XSHLD uses the methodology described by McGuire (see References).

None noted.

7. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

XSHLD is interactive and takes several minutes.

8. COMPUTER HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

Kaypro II and compatible CP/M computers, TRS-80 Model 4, or IBM PC and compatibles.

9. COMPUTER SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

The code was written in BASIC-80 for operating under Kaypro CP/M. It was tested under Montezuma Micro CP/M and TRSDOS (TRS-80 Model 4) and PC-DOS (IBM PC).
