NOTES: The July 1988 update was a complete replacement of this package
       and was designated GRESS 0.0.  The June 1989 replacement was
       designated GRESS 0.1.  The April 1990 replacement is designated
       GRESS 1.0.  The March 1991 replacement is GRESS 1.1.
       The December 1991 update is a newly frozen version designated
       GRESS 2.0.

       Separate subdirectories correspond to the various software/
       hardware versions of GRESS.  A list of files included in
       each subdirectory is listed in its README.1ST file.  Examples
       for VMS and AIX are included within those subdirectories, but
       HP, SUN and ULTRIX users must refer to the separate EXAMPLES
       subdirectory for sample cases.  Implementation notes in
       Appendix E of ORNL/TM-11951 provide information on how to
       compile and link the GRESS precompiler and run-time libraries.

       FORTRAN 77 and C compilers are required for installation.
